The first IIT/BCT blind and low vision multi-sport Come & Try Day on Hobart’s Eastern Shore was a great success. Big thanks go to Clarence City Council for their fantastic support, and Blind Sports Australia for the audio balls and equipment.
We had 20+ people attend the event (some sighted, some with low vision) on a warm and sunny day at the Wentworth Park Sportsgrounds in Howrah.
Both a local Bowls Club and Australian Blind Football representative were there, and the Lions Club of Clarence did a great job putting on a BBQ feast! Luke Edmonds MLC, the Shadow Minister for Disability also came along and joined in the fun

These multi-sports C&TD events are an exciting expansion to our BCT initiative and will build our community, connections and participation group, as well as attract more players for selection contention for the 2024 Tigers NCIC team.
We’ll be holding more of these events around the state, but our BCT cricket game days will also be held separate to those events too. Taylah is working up a games schedule, so more info to come on that soon.
