We are excited to share our collaborative efforts in continuing to bring new sporting opportunities to the vision impaired community.
On April 24, the first blind cricket ‘Come n Try’ day in Hobart was successfully held, with many participants trying blind cricket for the first time. BSA also welcomed Inclusive Innovations Tasmania (IIT) as a provisional member of its organisation.
Matt Clayton, CEO of Blind Sports Australia (BSA), said “we are excited to welcome IIT as a provisional member and celebrate this dual milestone. It marks two years of hard work by IIT and many sporting and support organisations to establish a state pathway for blind cricket participation through the establishment of Blind Cricket Tasmania, which previously did not exist.”
IIT is an independent, not for profit entity, dedicated to making inclusion mainstream. IIT was established to activate inclusive initiatives, such as Blind Cricket Tasmania, where support sectors do not have the resources to implement them.
